Wrong issue date on stock certificate

I have added two stock certificates.

I realized that the stock issue date is incorrect, but I cannot edit it. The error message says, "You cannot update the issue date because there are not enough shares available today to issue. Make sure there are enough shares in the plan as of the issue date and today."

What is the best way to fix this? Stock certificates are not been signed by anyone yet.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Tay!

There are a few things to check here. Firstly, make sure that your authorized shares have an early enough date to cover the issue dates you are trying to use to submit your share certificates. Here is a helpful support article on how to check your total number of authorized shares as well as the authorized dates of those shares: https://support.carta.com/s/article/share-class-manager-rights-and-preferences. Sometimes it's good added measure to navigate to your Manage equity > Manage authorized shares dropdown and double check the Manage authorized shares screen as well.

Currently, it looks like your two issued certificates have an issue date of 06/12/2024 so if you're trying to update your issue date to be prior to that, it will kick back an error.

I think the real error here though is that the date of your incorporation date, which can be viewed under Documents > Company documents > Incorporation documents is set for 06/12/2024 but your incorporation date on your paperwork is listed as 06/10/2024, so you might want to navigate to your incorporation documents, hit edit and update the date tied to that document.

With that you should be all set!
