  • 1.  Granting access for auditors

I'm preparing for an upcoming audit and want to make sure our auditors have the access they need to review our cap table, equity grants, and financial data in Carta. Instead of exporting reports, I'd prefer to give them access so they can navigate and pull what they need.

Has anyone gone through this process before? What's the best way to handle access for auditors?

I welcome anyone else to chime in and share how they've handled this in the past!

You can give an auditor access by adding them as a company account user and choosing the correct access permission.

    To do this:

    1. Navigate to Company settings in the bottom left and click into the Users and permissions tab.

    2. Click Add user and enter the new user's name, email address, and title. Pick the appropriate permissions set from the Access level dropdown and click Add user at the bottom to save.

For an auditor, you'll likely want to choose View-Only as the permission set.

You can also delete the auditor from your account after they complete their work from the same page by clicking Edit next to the user's name, and clicking the Delete user button at the bottom of the page.

You can find more details in our support article as well.
