Hello!

I am Brent, Carta's Community Manager, and I'm here to help you create a great community experience in the Founders Lounge.

Our mission at Carta is to create more owners. In keeping with that spirit, we want you to own your experience in the community. Here are a few tips to help you navigate the community.

Accessing the community
You can access the community a couple of different ways. While logged into Carta, you can navigate to the upper right corner and click on your name. A dropdown will appear and you can select Community. Alternatively, you can bookmark this link and sign in directly with your Carta credentials.

Completing your profile
To facilitate building a peer-to-peer community, please fill out your profile with the information that you would like to share. Once logged into the community, click on your photo in the upper-right and select Profile from the dropdown.

You can add your picture by clicking on Action>Change Picture. Note: even if you do not have a picture uploaded yet, you will need to select Change Picture.

You will now want to input your contact details by clicking the edit button next to Contact Details. A box will pop up where you can add your information. We suggest adding your company name, job title, and location. You can then choose with whom to share this information.

Privacy and notification settings
You will want to navigate to your profile page again. Click My Account> Privacy Setting under your name and it will allow you to customize what information you want to share with the community.

You can then choose what information you would like to share with other members of the community. Please note that you can choose whether you want your email address shown and to what groups.

You can also adjust how often you receive a digest from the community by clicking on your picture in the upper right-hand corner and selecting Profile> My Account> Community Notifications. We suggest receiving this as a Daily Digest.

How to post, reply, and navigate the forum
To make a post or ask a question, go to the Forum and click on the blue Add button.

You will choose whether you want your post to be an open discussion or a question you want answered.

To respond to a question, use the Reply button to the right of a post. You can also edit a post or flag an inappropriate message in that same setting.

If you missed a couple of posts in a discussion, click the View Thread link at the bottom to see the original question and see all replies.

Find other members
Take a moment to search for your friends and colleagues in the Member Directory and send them a contact request. You can also add someone as a contact by selecting the menu underneath their photo in the discussion post. Feel free to try it out and friend request me now!
