Rest assured that we only ask for their information to ensure that they are able to accept and manage their equity electronically in the Carta platform. By doing this, you're setting up your equity management for the long term and creating an efficient way for them to self-manage their shares. Per SEC regulations, Carta is also required to notify stakeholders of their securities, so we are required to utilize a valid email address.

I'm going through the checklist for Carta onboarding and noticed that I need to provide an email address for all of our investors and shareholders. Most of our investors are super busy and I don't want to bother them with information that isn't important. Why do I need to provide their email address to Carta?
