    Hello Founders! 

    Some interesting data recently has been shared by Carta's Data Insights team from H1 2023. Do these numbers resonate with what you've seen this year? 

    Advisor Equity Compensation:

    Current ranges for advisor equity grants we're seeing on Carta. The FAST default is 0.25% for pre-seed, so the 0.23% we're seeing implies a slight discount to that. Obviously this encompasses a wide range of advising types, but hopefully the ranges are useful.

    Equity to First Five Hires

    Here's what your peers have given their first five hires in company equity so far in 2023. That first hire is has the widest distribution, it's an art not a science. The other four converge a bit on decent medians.
