Founder vs. Non-Founder CEO Differentiation: We understand that the roles and compensation needs of Founder and Non-Founder CEOs can vary significantly. That's why we're now offering differentiated benchmarks tailored specifically to each category.

Equity Benchmarks: In addition to salary and total cash benchmarks, we're introducing equity benchmarks to provide a more comprehensive view of CEO compensation.

For Founder CEOs: Equity benchmarks will be based on total equity ownership, reflecting the unique position of founders within their companies.

For Non-Founder CEOs: Equity benchmarks will be based on 4-year new hire grants, aligning with industry standards for non-founding executive compensation.

To explore these enhanced benchmarks, simply visit the Benchmarks page on Carta Total Comp and select "CEO" under Area. Within the "CEO" section, you can further refine your search by choosing "Founder" or "Non-Founder" from the Founder Status dropdown.
