It definitely is a response. I remember reading about their founder and the signature issue was actually one of the first reasons they decided to build a competitor.

Interestingly enough I saw that one of Carta's competitors (on the lower end) is advertising fully signed legal documents as a differentiator against Carta. This may be a reaction to the Carta stance on signatures as currently in the product.

Personally I feel like all Carta esigning should be done the way it is on the SAFEs tool - with the ability to digitally create and sign an actual PDF (some other platforms have this type of functionality).
@Brent Devey Do you know if product has anything on the roadmap for esignature consistency across all tools on the platform?

Has anyone else noticed a lot of inconsistency on the Carta platform in regards to eSignatures.
There seems to be multiple implementations of eSignature on the platform:
- Option grants use the "Cover page + Blank option grant template" approach.
- Board Consents - eSignature is placed on the actual document, not a cover page
- Legal agreements when issuing interests with Carta LLC - signature directly on the PDF (More details here & here)
SAFEs - SAFEs are done perfectly in my opinion, both details & eSignatures are placed on the actual document, not a cover page.
- 83(b) election - The digital signature is added directly into the PDF of the 83(b) form (More details here)
- Carta Offer Letters - Carta Offer Letter comes with an e-sign solution but you can choose to disable it and use your own. (More details here)
Anyone notice any others?
Would love to see more consistency.
