Quick basics to issuing equity

If you're new to issuing grants on Carta, the Issuing Equity course walks through this end-to-end — that's the best place to start.

Quick checklist before you draft your first grant:

• ✓ Equity plan set up in Carta

• ✓ Vesting schedule configured

• ✓ Grant document templates live under Templates → Document Sets

Without document templates, holders won't have anything to sign — that's the most common thing that gets missed.

Once those are in place, the flow is: Draft → Approve → Holder e-signs → Shows in cap table. The course covers each step in detail.
