Pulley to Carta: What's Different?

If you managed your cap table on Pulley and you've been migrated to Carta, this article will get you oriented. Your data came with you. This is about learning the new platform.

What didn't change?

The core concepts are the same. You're still managing your cap table, issuing equity, and tracking 409A valuations. The work is the same. The platform looks different.

What changed?

How navigation is organized

Pulley organized everything into tabs and sub-menus across the top of the screen. Carta works differently: the sidebar is your primary navigation, and actions are explicit. Instead of hunting through tabs to find what you need, look to the left sidebar for where to go, and use action-specific buttons to issue securities, invite stakeholders, and more.

If something feels hard to find, the sidebar is almost always the right starting point.

How your cap table is displayed

In Pulley, your cap table was broken into separate tabbed ledgers: one for stock, one for options, and so on. In Carta, those are unified into a single cap table view. You can still filter by security type, but the default is a complete, all-in-one view of your full ownership picture.
