LLC transfers and repurchases now let you set how much capital moves
When you transfer or repurchase an LLC interest, you can now enter exactly how much invested capital moves, instead of always splitting it by units. This makes it possible to record deals where capital and units don't move in proportion.
New optional "Capital to transfer" field for each recipient on the transfer form, right after the number of units
New "Capital to return" field on the repurchase form
Leave it blank to split by units as before, or enter 0 to move no capital
The form shows how much invested capital is still unallocated (transfer) or available to return (repurchase)
Built-in checks stop you from moving more than the security holds, and require all of its capital to move when every unit moves
Works for certificates, exercise certificates, profits interest units, and restricted stock awards
Also fixed along the way: profits interest units no longer show $0.00 invested capital, preferred return amounts round consistently, and the transfer and repurchase forms now explain exactly why something can't be saved.
This applies to LLCs only and is rolling out in groups over time. The field is hidden for corporations.
