Learning Lab recap: Corporate Governance — September 15
Thank you to everyone who joined today's Corporate Governance Learning Lab with @Brianne Villamor, Customer Enablement Manager! The recording is embedded below, and the slide deck is attached.
Recap highlights:
Corporate governance fundamentals — Brianne defined corporate governance as the system of rules, roles, and processes that guide how a company is directed and controlled, and walked through Carta's governance toolkit: automated compliance, board management, 409A valuations, and cap table access controls.
Permissions & board management — Covered company editor vs. full access permission levels, how to add board members with start/end date tracking, and aligning signatory authority with decision-making roles.
Cap table access & board consents — Walked through restricted, basic, advanced, and full detail cap table access tiers, plus the Manage Board tab's templates for board consents and meeting materials.
Claude + Carta integration — Demonstrated connecting Claude to Carta via the plugin to query company data, pull 409A valuation history, and generate cap table reports.
409A valuation requests — Showed how to kick off a request, connect QuickBooks for automatic financial data, and what to expect (5–7 business day turnaround, analysts available M–F 9am–5pm).
