Do we have to contact my investors?

I'm working through the process of inputing shareholder details and I'm wondering if I have to add my investors? They only want to be contacted about very important matters and I want to make sure that they aren't inundated with unimportant emails from Carta. 

If I have to add that information, do you recommend letting them know in advance that they will be contacted?
