Post valuations to your Schedule of Investments, even when an asset isn't linked
You can now post a portfolio valuation to your Schedule of Investments from any valuation project, including projects built on pro forma cap tables and assets that aren't linked to a Fund Admin record. Before, a missing link meant the post failed, and you only found out at the end of the workflow.
What's new:
If the share class is already linked, nothing changes. Carta uses the existing link automatically.
If there is no link, you pick the matching investment from a shorter list drawn from the relevant funds' schedules.
This choice doesn't create a permanent link. Carta remembers your firm's preferences, so the list is prefilled next time.
All security types are supported, including warrants and convertible notes.
Valuations based on pro forma cap tables can now be posted.
This applies to fund administrators and firms using Portfolio Valuations. It is rolling out now and expected to be available to everyone by the end of this week.
