How to document an out-of-order stock transfer?

If a company handled a transfer of some shares of stock (say, in May 2026) but hadn’t uploaded an earlier transfer (say, in April 2026) to Carta, how can the earlier transfer be done? Carta doesn’t seem to allow it: the stock certificate that was outstanding in April cannot be transferred, but transferring the currently-outstanding stock certificate won’t work either because the transfer date would be before the stock certificate issuance date.

Is there a way to upload an earlier stock transfer to Carta if a later stock transfer has already been documented?
