Carta issued electronic share certificates despite opting out — how to void them?

Hi everyone,

I recently entered our latest equity round on Carta and made sure to indicate that I did not want Carta to issue share certificates, as we already have physical share certificates managed outside the platform.

Despite this, Carta went ahead and generated electronic share certificates anyway — with numbering that doesn't match our real-life certificates — and automatically sent notification emails to all our investors to sign those new share certificates...

I'm looking to:

  1. Void/delete all electronic share certificates Carta generated (without affecting the underlying share issuances)

  2. Ensure no duplicate or conflicting certificates exist going forward

  3. Keep the issued equity breakdown intact on Carta

Has anyone run into this before? Is there a way to bulk-void certificates, or does this need to go through Carta support directly?

Thanks in advance!
