Best practices for keeping stockholder census data updated

I have several employee stockholders as well as several investors. I'm looking for best practices for keeping all the census data (i.e., mailing address, birthdates, SSN or EIN, etc.) updated. For the employees who are also stockholders it's straight forward integration with the HR system. But for external stockholders, how are people doing that? Send a system-generated email to each stockholder asking them to review and update their account in Carta? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
