Option pool headroom check

What I did: Had a new hire ready to go and needed to confirm there was room in the option plan before sending the offer letter.

The prompt I used:

For [Company Name], how many shares remain in the equity incentive plan (authorized but unissued)? Show granted, exercised, and available.

How it works: Queries the equity plan summary — total authorized, how many have been granted, how many have been exercised, and what’s left available. If you have multiple equity plans, you can specify which one or ask Carta to show all of them.

Result: Three numbers, immediately. Enough to confirm the offer was within the plan without opening a single report.
